Core Specifications

Dual-echo enhanced + industrial protection, designed for harsh outdoor environments

Dual-Echo Technology

Two returns per laser pulse. The first return captures the nearest surface while the second return penetrates rain, fog, and glass for significantly improved detection in adverse weather.

How Dual-Echo Enhances Outdoor Perception

Dual-echo technology keeps M360-D reliable in adverse weather

🌧️

Rain Penetration

Dual-echo significantly reduces rain-induced noise. The first return captures raindrops while the second return penetrates the rain curtain for true obstacle positions.

Reduced Rain Noise
🌫️

Fog Detection

In dense fog, the second return signal penetrates the fog layer to detect targets invisible to single-echo sensors, increasing safety margins.

Dusty Environments

In high-dust environments like mines and construction sites, dual-echo effectively filters dust scattering signals for true obstacle information.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is dual-echo technology in the M360-D?+
Dual-echo (dual-return) allows the M360-D to receive two signals per laser pulse. The first return captures the nearest surface, while the second return can penetrate rain, fog, and semi-transparent objects. This significantly improves detection reliability in adverse weather conditions.
When should I choose M360-D over M360?+
Choose M360-D for outdoor applications where rain, fog, or dust are common, or when you need to detect objects behind glass or other semi-transparent obstacles. For clean indoor environments, the single-return M360 is sufficient and more cost-effective.
Does dual-echo affect M360-D performance?+
No. The M360-D maintains the same 200kHz point rate, 0.05–50m range, and ≤2cm accuracy as the M360. Dual-echo simply provides additional per-pulse data without reducing scan rate or accuracy.
Can M360-D handle heavy rain?+
The M360-D's dual-echo technology significantly reduces rain-induced noise compared to single-echo LiDARs. Combined with its IP67 rating and 60°C operating temperature, it is designed for demanding outdoor environments.
Is the M360-D compatible with the same SLAM algorithms as M360?+
Yes. Both M360 and M360-D use the same data interface and protocol. All SLAM algorithms tested with M360 (FAST-LIO2, LIO-SAM, Point-LIO, RT-LOAM, Cartographer) work with M360-D.
